"Karaka Bay" Wellington Print
Karaka Bay print was illustrated by Lesh in her Wellington home from her own photo of "Karaka Bay" which is a short 5min drive from her home on the Miramar Peninsula.
This design was a pleasure to illustrate and I decided to take inspiration from my earlier works like "Pohutukawa wreath", "Kaimoana" "Wellington Seascape" and "The Gathering" for my content and to form a circular composition, adding in Pohutukawa flowers which line the Bay, as well as a kotare and black lipped mussels which are found at Karaka Bay. Such a beautiful magical spot and one of my favourite little beaches.
This piece is a natural progression bringing all of my elements together from a number of my illustrations to form a cohesive, native, New Zealand nature inspired art piece.
